“Zombie Traits” (Ep. 44)

Torres and I spend a lot of time discussing science and natural selection in this episode.  If you’re curious, here is Carl Sagan explaining how Natural Selection(actually artificial selection in the example he uses) works independent of the organism it is acting on..

Carl Sagan explains Natural Selection.

The “fear” I described to Torres that creeped him out so much he didn’t want to talk about it anymore? Trypophobia: the fear of small clustered holes. Apparently there is some debate over whether this is a real phobia, but that hasn’t stopped these little holes from invading my sleep and giving me some twisted nightmares about falling victim to some strange infection. If you are wondering how a bunch of little holes can make your skin crawl, I’ve included the actual video I only described to Torres. Be warned before you watch, your dreams may never be safe again.

Trypophobia.

The roach scene Torres talks about from Creepshow…

Roaches!!!

I couldn’t find the video of Maury Povich chasing a woman with tin foil, but here he is torturing a woman who is afraid of cotton balls.

Maury is an asshole.

The scene I describe from “House on Haunted Hill”…

Ghost doctors don’t like it when you film them.

Please, keep in mind I was seven years old when this aired. Armus from the Star Trek: TNG episode, “Skin of Evil”…

Armus and the death of Tasha Yar

If you’ve never heard this classic song, or seen the awesome claymation video that accompanies it, it would be worth your time to check out this silly song…

Cows With Guns

If you’re like me and didn’t realize Godzilla was not always the same size, you will want to check out this handy chart…
The size of Gojira

Shotguns and TvZ’s fictional armory

In this episode, Torres and I debate the merits of the mighty shotgun. And since the walking dead introduced Hershel’s incredible unlimited ammo shotgun, we describe our favorite fictional weapons, you know, the one’s that we could use to dispatch zombies. Enjoy!!
